DTSA is now established as a not for profit Charitable Incorporated Company and is now employing its own back office team.
Please see brief biographies of the employed staff below and be aware that we are also being supported by two part-time contractors, Hannah Barker (Events Administration) and Sharon Siddons (Governor Training Administration).
Having run an Education MA at the Centre for Teacher Education, University of Warwick for the last three years, and having taught on a range of programmes at the University of Derby Deb has spent the last decade educating teachers to Masters level whilst researching the self-improving school system (SISS).
A qualified 11-18 teacher, Deb taught Social Sciences in secondary education for 12 years prior to her university teaching and was an A-Level Government & Politics examiner for European Politics. Her Education Doctorate was on Educational Leadership in the IB, and was awarded in 2017.
Deb co-convenes the Leadership Preparation and Development Research Interest Group (RIG) for BELMAS, and she is an elected member of BELMAS Council. Deb is also an elected member of IPDA’s International Committee, and is a Parent Governor and Trustee in an 11-18 Derbyshire comprehensive school.
Deb is passionate about the opportunities afforded by the SISS and the OA, and having lived in Derbyshire for a decade, she is delighted to be back facilitating the support that schools need.
Anna has over twenty years experience in the education and financial sector. With a background in teaching both Finance and Mathematics in Secondary and Further Education including winning awards from IPPM, World Skills and IAB for her personal financial accolades as well as her teaching.
Anna also works as an examiner for AQA at Secondary level on GCSE Mathematics and brings her expertise to DTSA.
Anna works full-time and manages all DTSA Finance and HR matters while also administering our STEM Science Learning Partnership programmes and courses.
Lauren qualified from Derby University in 2002 with a combined honours degree in HR, Business Management and Career Management. She has over 15 years experience in the education sector organising major events and conferences having started her career working in the Education CPD team in the Local Authority and progressed to being Programme Officer.
Lauren went on to help form Derby Schools Learning Partnership and develop all the back office systems that saw the partnership flourish before it developed to become DTSA.
Lauren is currently on maternity leave with her third child and will return to DTSA to work part-time in April 2019.
Katherine is a qualified primary school teacher with a diploma in business management. She moved from teaching to a talent development/leadership training role for the global innovation company 3M where she worked for 10 years before joining DTSA in March 2018.
Katherine has also spent time living and working in Australia, with responsibility for the CPD programme for practising psychiatrists based at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
Katherine now combines her teaching, business and CPD background in her part-time role as DTSA Programme Officer.
Frances has an honours degree in criminology and has lived and studied in West Africa and comes from a Psychiatric Liaison background in the NHS, and Education (training and apprenticeships).
She has worked for DTSA since 2016 on a part – time basis administering all aspects of the Primary School Direct programme from applications and interviewing to programme training support for trainers, trainees and mentors.
Frances maintains a supportive link between The University of Derby and DTSA.
