School Trips in 2024-25

Chellsaton Junior School

We funded places for 128 Y3 children and 128 Y5 children to attend a First Aid Workshop to learn essential skills and complement their science curriculum learning.

“The workshop focuses on teaching children how to help others using training which complements the science curriculum about health and human bodies. The workshops help pupils to gain skills which will teach them when and how to help someone who is suddenly injured or ill. Explore situations where basic first aid might be needed (e.g. the scenarios in this module). Explain that pupils will learn when and how they might help, but they should still speak to an adult if they or someone they know is in pain or has hurt themselves.
The workshops build on prior experience so we refresh knowledge every two years.

Children would have the skills to:
●carry out first aid on themselves or another person

●explain to someone else how to carry out first aid

●call for help from adults or emergency services

They are also be made aware of careers that exist within the medical profession and discuss the different roles that they could aspire to.

Ridgeway Infant School

We funded places for 90 children to visit the National Forest Adventure Farm to supplement their learning and development.

“This trip provides the children with an opportunity to develop their experiences and understanding supporting a range of areas of learning. Including Understanding the World, Personal, Social and Emotional Development and their Physical Skills. Reception children accessing a trip means that many of them access things they have never experienced before e.g. going on a coach, seeing animals, looking at a working farm. All of which enhance their cultural capital. It also allows us to provide life skills such as ensuring they understand why seatbelts must be worn, how to stay safe on a bus and the importance of staying with an adult when out in public especially in risky areas such as a car park. This trip also provides a memorable and enjoyable experience for the children that both impacts learning but also supports positive mental health and well-being.
