SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT
DTSA is continuing to develop a wide range of in-school support that can be delivered in flexible and bespoke ways such as inputs to staff meetings, INSET days, in-school meetings, shared events with other schools (to keep costs down) or coaching for individual members of staff.
Colleagues are serving practitioners from good and outstanding schools in a range of contexts in both the city and the county. They face similar daily challenges to yours and all have a clear focus of ensuring the children get the very best opportunities to succeed in learning, whatever their starting point.
Network Meetings are a chance for collaboration with your peers so you can share information and develop as a leader. Expert consultants will help you identify priority issues in teaching and learning and professional development for your teams. You will be able to develop solutions, drawing on the expertise within the group. This strengthening of informal school-to-school support will create an effective network of information, advice and guidance.
Pupil Premium
An opportunity to understand how Pupil Premium funding can be spent and the need to be fully aware of its impact on the performance of this group of pupils in the school. The need to evaluate spending and be well prepared for conversations with Ofsted.
LEADERSHIP AND CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT (CPLD)
DTSA offers training courses at a number of local venues in the Derby and Derbyshire area, as well as online. We can work with you to plan a whole school INSET day or design a planned Continuing Professional Learning & Development strategy so that our trainers and consultants can work with your staff to deliver high quality, cost effective continuing professional development for teachers and leaders.
Our sessions are based on in-depth research and identified best practice and delivered by colleagues with a deep understanding of pedagogy and andragogy. Our trainers are highly skilled who can support you in moving your improvement plans forward to have a positive impact on pupil outcomes and teacher well being.
Our offer is reviewed every year to ensure that it remains relevant within a challenging landscape and contains best practice at all levels as we believe that it is essential to deliver across all levels and sectors.
DTSA Termly Headteacher Development Days
These development days are open to headteachers or appropriate senior leadership of any type of school in the city or county. The days focus on the leadership of learning and give opportunities to address your own issues from your own context.
The course will enable senior leadership to develop high quality relationships and partnerships, provide opportunities to share experiences and develop professionally and to find quality time to reflect and take part in individual, small and whole group activities that improve a head’s ability to lead on learning.
