As one of the 5 Big Ideas at the heart of Maths Mastery, representation should be evident in every maths lesson. Bar modelling is a visual representation that bridges the gap between concrete and abstract and can often be the key that unlocks children’s understanding of how to approach a problem.
In this session, we will explore how to use bar models to represent a problem and experience how they can reveal the mathematical structure that leads to clarity and success.

This 2 hour training session will show you 5 easy ways to ensure that all children can be stretched without stretching teachers to their limits.

Collecting analysing and presenting data in science requires and provides opportunity for the use and development of mathematical skills. Throughout this course you will identify how to maximise your pupil’s opportunities to develop their numeracy skills, measuring and statistical maths (data handling) and improve attainment in science by planning lessons in which children have the opportunity to apply their mathematical skills in a practical environment.
