“The ECF was designed to make sure early career teachers focus on learning the things that make the most difference in the classroom and their professional practice.
The core induction programmes include high-quality development materials, underpinned by the ECF, which will support early career teachers to develop the essential knowledge and skills to set them up for a successful and fulfilling career in teaching. Schools have an opportunity to take advantage of the benefits of the ECF early by using the core induction programmes published here, in whichever way that best suits them and their early career teachers.”

With the continued challenges posed by the Coronavirus outbreak, early career teachers need support now more than ever to ensure they thrive during this difficult year.
The Chartered College of Teaching is supporting student teachers and ECTs to make the strongest possible start with our Early Career Hub, an indispensable resource packed with accessible articles, interactive content and high-quality classroom footage. With the Hub’s sections tailored to the Early Career Framework and created by teachers and academics, early-career teachers will have access to all the support they need for whenever they step into the classroom. We know some ECTs will be unable to observe classroom practice this year but we’re here to help with over 40 videos of classroom teaching available on the Hub.
The Early Career Hub is available free to all student teachers and from just £1.88 a month for ECTs and builds on our extensive experience of supporting early career teachers, including through the Accelerate programme, early career teacher events and The Early Career Framework Handbook. Join our webinar for an exclusive guided tour of this unmissable resource by emailing email@example.com for joining instructions.
The video below provides an overview of Education Development Trust’s Early Career Professional Development Programme, part of the early roll-out of the DfE’s programme for school leaders that are interested in joining the early roll-out, or for anyone that wants to know more about or work with early career teachers. Please note that if you are in an expansion area of the early roll-out (ie Derbyshire), we are offering a one year programme.
Our ECT (NQT) programme complements the fully funded Early Career Framework programme that DTSA are delivering in conjunction with the Education Development Trust. Please contact us by September to be registered for the available ECF funded places.
